Chandrashila trek, at an altitude of 12,083 ft. is one of the most suitable treks for beginners. A visit to the holy Tugnath temple, famous for being the highest Shiva temple in the world offers you a vantage point in the trek.
The journey to the trek takes you through Rishikesh, Sari, and Chopta…When here you can also indulge in bird-watching activities and lakeside picnics. Do not miss watching, the golden-breasted eagles that are a mesmerizing sight from the summit.
One of the most beautiful treks in the Garhwal Himalayan region, the Chandrashila Summit Trek,It is best to start early in the morning from Chopta to Tungnath, which is the highest Shiva Temple in the world, located at a height of 3,680 meters.
The temple is one of the Panch Kedars and is tucked in the lap of the Chandrashila peak. It is believed that Tungnath is more than 1000 years old and holds a legend that corroborates some of the incidents depicted in the Mahabharata epic.
From Tungnath temple, a further ascent of an hour terminates atop the Chandrashila summit wherefrom one can capture the silvery sheen of the Himalayan range dotted with several peaks and also of all the green valleys and deep gorges.The duration of the track camp to chopta starting point is approximately 3/4 km.

Day 1 – Departure from Delhi
Start your adventurous journey by boarding an evening Tempo traveler/Sedan car/ SUV car or swift Dzire (depending on the group size) from Delhi around 10:00 PM
Overnight journey in the bus.
Day 2 – Arriving at Chopta in camp
Rise-up to the mountain morning, and get enjoy a hearty breakfast in the laps of nature. Reach Rishikesh by early morning and move to chopta. Relax and enjoy our camps in chopta with beautiful views of nature. Dinner over a bonfire session in a beautiful Himalayan setting Overnight stay at Camps.
Day 3 – Trek to Tungnath or Chandrashila
After an early morning delicious breakfast at Camp get ready for the destination. Start the 6 KM long trek, where you will get to know some interesting facts about the place from the locals Reach Tungnath, which is 3680 m above the sea level. You can mediate when you reach the highest Shiva Temple in the world. Trek a few more and reach the highest destination of this trek – Chandrashila Peak. Enjoy and admire a 180-degree view of higher Himalayan peaks such as Nanda Devi, Bandarpunch, Chaukhamba, and Kedar Peak Start the descent back to Uttarakhand’s mini Switzerland, Chopta.
Day 4 – After an early morning we take a brkfast drive to camps. After reaching camps our trek or tour service will conclude.
