Ansuya Mata Temple is an ancient historical temple of Sati Ansuya, wife of the great rishi Atri muni. Ansuya temple has located an elevation of 2175mts height from sea level in Gopeshwar, Chamoli. The trek to this famous temple starts from Mandal and the length of the trek is about to 4km. it is an easy trek that goes through the dense forest of oke species. Maa Anusuya Devi Temple is very attractive and beautiful. Ma Anusuya was one of the nine daughters of Devahuti and Prajapati Kadarm.

Atri Muni, husband of Anusuya Devi, is located at a distance of 2 Km from the temple. The ashram is in the form of a cave temple. This is said to be the only holy place in the world where devotees circumambulate around a river as a mark of reverence.Before the temple, there is a statue of Ganesh Ji in a small temple, on the way to Temple, and in the temple courtyard, there is also a three-faced idol of Shiva, Parvati, and Dattadreya, the son of Maa Anusuya. At this temple, those couples who are deprived of child happiness are here with a vow of child attainment.

You can go also on madal near by chopta approx 4/5km. That madal is located in the midst of the pristine beauty of the garwal himalyans of uttrakhand.
